Tours
Omar's family also runs day trips by road to see the area's rich historic and cultural attractions. A dolmus is usually a packed people-carrier run by local taxi or bus firms. But with Omar (right), you travel in air-conditioned comfort with refreshments provided along the way.
Your destination can vary from visiting ancient Lycian tombs to enjoying an invigorating, yet relaxing, Turkish bath in the renowned market town of Fethiye, or taking in the dramatic splendour of mountains, rivers and gorges. In short, you choose.
There is no minimum party size and you can discuss the fare with Omars

Saklikent Gorge
One of the most breathtaking sights on your tour, this canyon is 328ft long and very, very deep! You can walk through the gorge, formed through the centuries by melting snow, along a wooden walkway constructed over the streaming waters - see the photo to the right... Further up you can wade through the chilly river to see yet more dramatic views… Also a super place to stop for lunch. Tasty trout and traditional fare. There are souvenir shops and plenty of places to sit and take a traditional Turkish coffee on a comfy Ottoman constructed close to the water's edge.
Kekova Sunken City - Kale
The road to Kekova brings into view some of the most beautiful countryside in this region. Yet the journey finishes at an unusual wonder - the sunken city of Kekova. You can take a boat tour along the edge of Kekova Island, or hire a canoe to get even closer to the artefacts. Disembark at Kale to visit the island village, where locals will offer you lace to buy, and walk to the castle and baths which date from the 1st Century AD
Xanthos
The name Xanthos is a key part of the history of Lycia. The ancient city is on the highway between Fethiye and Kas and many of its artefacts are, in fact, in the UK – in the British Museum after looting in the 1830s. However, the remaining pieces are still a beautiful and dramatic representation of the civilisation that flourished from 500BC. See burial chambers, food stores, mosaic floors, theatres and much more…
Islamlar
A traditional village of exquisite beauty only a few miles from your base in Kalkan. And there is a chance to see some ancient rock tombs on your journey there and back. Springs and streams spouting from the steep terrain made it an excellent place for freshwater trout farms. So wouldn’t it be a shame to miss out on some more sumptuous food…?
